This week TideWater Community College (TCC) started the Life Skills Series.

On Monday, February 12, the Virginia Beach Student Center held a lecture on  “ADULTING” where students could learn effective time management and budgeting skills.

If you couldn’t attend the event, here are some “adulting notes” for you:



Create a school assignment list, homework tracker, To-Do list.

Use your weekly planner for classes, work and activities.

Follow your monthly planner for appointments, birthdays, trips, changes from your week.



Prioritize the tasks by date, importance, and the time it takes to complete.

Find a comfortable work space to limit distractions.



Don’t spend what you don’t have, find your priorities and set goals.

Create a budget plan.

Use envelope system.

Balance your checkbooks.

Get more essential life tips in the upcoming Life Skills Series lectures:

“RELATIONSHIPS”, Monday, February 19.

Improve your ability to communicate effectively in your relationships.

“SELF-CARE”, Monday, February 26.

Develop techniques to cope with stress and other emotional struggles that can make life challenging.
